Techsolutions completed the contract to install RFID access at the main entrance gate to the Innovation Hub office park. Tenants can either use RFID tags for entry or biometric. The contract included the refurbishment of booms for 7 lanes. |

Oct 2011 – Asset Tracking for Tubular Holdings |
|
Techsolutions supplied the Mobile Asset solution for Asset Tracking to Tubular
Holdings, one of the largest privately owned construction companies in Southern
Africa. Tubular Holdings (Pty) Ltd provides the Construction Industry a service
in Structural Steelwork, Platework, Piping Fabrication, Erection, Electrical &
Instrumentation, Installation of Mechanical Equipment, Planning, Management and
Execution of Turnaround Projects. This solution was deployed at the Head Office
in Bedfordview and will also be deployed at the various subsidiary companies. |

Sep 2011 – Techsolutions Presents at Logistics Workshop |
|
Techsolutions presented at the 3rd Annual Logistics Workshop held in Windhoek Namibia by the Namibian German Institute of Logistics. The topic presented was “RFID solutions in the Supply Chain” and focussed on case studies of projects successfully completed by Techsolutions. The first case study was that of traffic control using RFID technology, which Techsolutions supplied to SANRAL for Overload Control. The second case study looked at weigh bridge automation. The third case study was about inventory management, which Techsolutions supplied to Park Village Auctioneers. The application of RFID technology in solutions for Tolling and congestions management was also discussed. |

Sep 2011 – Techsolutions Tracks Conference Delegates |
|
The South African Medical Association (SAMA) has recently adopted a point system for members. Members earn points based on the period they attend lectures and presentations. Techsolutions was approached and provided a solution for tracking delegates and measuring the period they spend in lectures. The solution was successfully used at SAMA’s recent conference which was held at the CSIR Conference Centre in Pretoria. |

July 2011 – Techsolutions provides Mobile Asset to Atlantis Foundries |
|
Techsolutions completed the rollout of Mobile Asset at Atlantis Foundries, a subsidiary of Daimler Chrysler. The system is used for tagging, tracking and auditing assets in the Foundry and Machining Departments. All heavy machines are tagged with passive RFID while office equipment is marked with barcode tags. |

Mar 2011 Techsolutions supplies RFID Vehicle Inventory Management
Solution to Park Village Auctioneers |
Park Village Auctioneers (PVA) is the largest auction house in South Africa of
repossessed vehicles. At any time PVA manages between 3,000 and 6,000 vehicles
at 10 different locations. Over the past 12 months, Techsolutions assisted in
migrating PVA from a manual tracking solution using Excel spreadsheets to an
automated RFID based inventory management solution. When a new repossessed
vehicle arrives at a site, it is tagged with a RFID tag and linked to the
vehicle details are extracted from the vehicle license disk. The data is
uploaded to an online database using the handheld RFID/barcode scanner. All site
managers and financial institutions can log in to the web site and view vehicle
details and movements. Taking inventory is fast: it takes about 1 hour to scan
1000 vehicles, so it can be done on a daily basis instead of monthly. The
frustrating month-end stock take bottleneck has now become a legacy. Accuracy
has also been improved substantially.

Nov 2010 Techsolutions Launches RFIDGate |
|
RFIDgate automates the entry of vehicles into premises using Long Range Passive
RFID. It uses our new LIR-100 reader which covers 2 lanes (entry and exit). The
LIR-100 has outputs to control the opening of booms and gates. RFIDgate is a
service offered to estates, office parks and industrial clients. The entry logs
from the LIP-100 are automatically uploaded to the RFIDgate web site via the
GPRS modem of the LIR-100. Users can log in and view logs as well as add/delete
tags allowed to enter. |

Oct 2010 Techsolutions Supplies Weigh Bridge Automation Solution |
|
Techsolutions supplied an automated Weigh Bridge Monitoring solution to Big Sky
Monitoring at the Vuna Coal Mine. When a truck arrives at the weigh bridge its
unique RFID tag is recorded by our LIR-100 reader. Our S/W component extracts
the weight data from the Trek Scale MS Access database and sends it with the
vehicle tag ID to our servers using the GPRS modem of the LIR-100. Big Sky
Monitoring and their client can log on to our web site and view the loads
collected and delivered in real time. |

Nov 2010: Weighbridge Automation Solution |
|
Techsolutions commissioned a new weighbridge solution for Big Sky Monitoring,
focussing on monitoring of the coal supply chain. Using our new LIR reader with
integrated GPRS modem, vehicle and weight data are automatically sent to our
servers in real time. This allows real time monitoring of the coal supply chain
operations. |

Techsolutions presented the topic “Implementing RFID in Logistics” at the
Logistics Workshop in Walvisbay. This was organised by the Namibian German
Centre of Logistics at the Polytechnic of Namibia. |

and files. The portal has been integrated with LibWin library management

Jun 2010 Techsolutions installs RFID lab at Namibia Polytechnic |

Techsolutions has provided a number of RFID demonstrators for the Centre of
Logistics at the Namibia Polytechnic. These RFID demonstrators will be used to
train students in the use and application of RFID technology. The stations
demonstrate the following applications: temperature logging in the cold chain,
pallet and goods tracking, weigh bridge automation, asset tracking and asset
protection.. |

15 Apr 2010 Techsolutions Installs MobileAsset at BHP Billiton
Subsidiary |

Techsolutions recently completed the installation of a MobileAsset Entreprise at
Manganese Metal Company. Manganese Metal Company (MMC) is the single largest
producer of pure electrolytic manganese metal in the world. MobileAsset is used
to track barcoded and RFID fitted assets in the various production facilities. |

Techsolutions completed the
installation of MobileAsset at Transnet Saldanha. The project involves using
RFID tags for tracking machinery for maintenance purposes. |

March 2009 - Intelligent Transport Conference |
|
Eon de Koker presented the topic: -The role of RFID in
Intelligent Transport Systems-. The talk included an overview of current passive
and active RFID implementations in Intelligent Transport Systems in the USA and
Europe, related international standards as well as market trends. Examples were also shown of how passive RFID technology was replacing active in the USA in tolling
applications, due its lower operational cost. In Europe the challenge of operating
tolling in the European Union is to make the systems deployed in the various countries
interoperable. Since existing European systems use predominantly active technology,
European standards only supports active (legacy) technology. Apart from the e-tag
used by Bakwena in South Africa, there are no legacy active RFID deployed in South
Africa. We therefore have the unique opportunity to select the better option. |

February 2009 - 18th International Engineering
and Technology Fair |

Techsolutions exhibits in Bangalore, India at the 18th
International Engineering and Technology Fair. Techsolutions exhibited as part of
the South African Pavillion, organized and supported by the South African Department
of Trade and Industry. Techsolutions received a number of enquiries for tracking
and tracing solutions and are pursuing cooperation with a number of possible partners. |

January 2009 - Bapong Traffic Control

Techsolutions completes delivery of RFID
hardware to Mikros Traffic Monitoring, a division of Syntell. This is to be used
in the implementation of traffic control systems at the Bapong Traffic Control Centre
for heavy vehicles. Each vehicle coming off the highway is tagged and then channeled
through various test stations including weigh bridges and roadworthiness. This is
the first implementation of this nature in South Africa utilizing RFID technology. |
