CableSentinel
RFID Cable Tracking For Mines
A Cable Management & Theft Prevention System
Cable theft is a common problem in mines and often leads to significant financial losses for mining companies. CableSentinel is a system designed specifically to prevent the theft of cables and to help mine companies manage their cable records.
How CableSentinel Works:
-
The cables are tagged with RFID microchips.
-
Fixed RFID scanners are installed at several key locations within the mine. The scanners will detect movement of cables throughout the mine.
-
When a cable is detected at an unauthorized location, an alarm will be generated and sent to the main server.
-
When a cable is detected at an authorized location, the cable movement event will be uploaded to the Cloud in real time, where stored records can be accessed at any time when an authorized employee logs into their CableSentinel account.
-
CableSentinel also provides handheld RFID scanners that can be used to locate cables that have been detected at unauthorized locations.

CableSentinel and its Cloud-based System:
All data captured by fixed and handheld RFID scanners is stored locally on each device before being synchronized and uploaded to the Cloud in real time.
An authorized employee can access reports such as:
Alerts: A log report with date, time and location information for all cases where cables were detected at unauthorized locations.
Cable Movement: A log report with date, time and location information for all cases where cables were detected at authorized locations.
Cable Register: A log report with the date and time at which new cables were purchased and installed, or malfunctioning cables were reported or disposed of.
